One Year!

Yesterday, December 28th, 2013, marked Jared and my one year wedding anniversary! It is amazing to think that a year has already zoomed by. Our wedding day was so exciting and full of joy and love; we both cannot believe it was a year ago!

We spent the day doing some of our favorite things. First, we got up early and went out to breakfast and headed to one of our favorite spots, Snoqualmie Falls. When Jared and I had only been dating for a short while, I googled "fun things to do near seattle". Snoqulamie Falls popped up and we thought we should give it a try. I had done it several times when I was younger and remembered enjoying it. We had a blast and from then on we went every summer. Snoqualmie Falls became a very special place for us when Jared proposed at the falls and we went to Salish Lodge on our honeymoon. It seemed only fitting that on our one year wedding anniversary we would go to the falls!

Beautiful Foggy falls

After the falls, we went to downtown Seattle for a few hours: shopping, exploring Pike Place and taking lots of pictures. After Seattle, we headed to Bellevue for the night. It was a wonderful day full love and laughter spent with my very best friend and husband of 1 year! I love to look back over the year at all of the wonderful memories and can't wait for even more in the year ahead!

Merry Christmas!

We have been celebrating Christmas all week long! We started with a wonderful Christmas Eve service, then Christmas morning at my house, opening presents, and watching an old (new to us) Christmas movie called "Mixed Nuts"! Christmas evening, we headed to Jared's family's annual gift exchange! (I left with a super comfy huge yellow blanket!!) And then yesterday, we celebrated Trygg Christmas all day long! It has been such a blast, and I feel so loved by both of my families! Christmas is my favorite time of the year; it is a wonderful time to celebrate the birth of Jesus, as well as a time to spend with family relaxing. This Christmas season was so much fun! I am bummed it has already come and gone!

Home for the Holidays

After 4 long months, I am finally back in Washington with my family to celebrate Christmas! I flew in Wednesday afternoon and have already had so much fun with my family! Sadly, Jared has to work till the 23rd :(... but then we will be reunited! I have been able to get a lot of Christmas shopping finally done and have fun with my sister!

Family Trees!

On Friday night, we went to downtown Seattle for our annual Christmas tradition! We went to my favorite restaurant, Benihana’s, and then to the 5th Avenue to see the Christmas show! This year was Oliver! It was a blast to see Seattle all lit up for Christmas and to dress up in our fun Christmas outfits!

Last night we ventured to Wild Waves and went on tons of rides. The park was all lit up with tons of festive Christmas lights! We fought the rain and had a great time!

While I was in Prison......

This morning, Jared and I decided that today was a day for adventure! These are the days when we miss Seattle the most, but… I googled, “fun things to do in Boise area”, and, after seeing many horribly boring things we could do, I saw tours of the Old Idaho state Penitentiary! I was intrigued and researched more… I, for one, love anything crime related. I LOVE Law & Order SVU, CSI (any city), Snapped, and any jail documentaries, just to name a few things.

We decided to go for it and I am so glade we did! I was expecting a long, semi boring/semi intriguing tour of a scary old building, but it turned out to be very fun and extremely interesting! We arrived and were the only people wanting to go on a tour, and the tour guide was home sick… Because the tour guide was sick we were given a map and they told us we could just walk around and explore. It was so fascinating to walk through the different buildings, see where the inmates slept, ate, showered, and were even killed…. It was a wonderful day doing something new and learning some Idaho history!

Jumping into Blogging!

I have been wanting to start a Blog for a while now, and I have finally decided to take the plunge! While Jared was sick, I started a Blog called, “Jared’s Road to Recovery”, where I would do weekly and daily updates on Jared’s progress and what was happening while we were in the hospital. When I was encouraged to start that Blog I was very hesitant, but soon realized it was the best way communicate to everyone!

Now that Jared is healthy, I do not need to update that Blog very often, but I found myself missing blogging. I have decided that even if no one reads this, that it is a fun way to express my feelings and to share the joys and adventures of my everyday life!

I have been thinking of starting a blog for several months, but this week, FINALS week of all weeks, I decided it was time! I'm pretty sure I was originally just trying to procrastinate studying for all my exams. I want this to be a place where I can talk about my exciting adventures, my faith, and the journey of my life!
