#RotterFamilyVacation

The last couple weeks have been full of adventure. Christmas, New Years, and then Rotter Family Vacation!!!! On January 2nd, we left for our adventure to Houston, Texas! We spent one fun day/night in Houston exploring the city and visiting the aquarium. The weather was a bit colder then we were imagining, so walking around was a bit chilly!

Crazy Beautiful sunset in Houston!

Ferris Wheel just in time for the sunset!

Our next stop was Galveston Texas, where we spent two nights before getting on our cruise ship! Galveston was tons of fun! We stayed in a hotel right across the street from Pleasure Pier, a fun recreated boardwalk full of rides and games! We also went to a movie about the history of Galveston explaining all of the horrible hurricanes that have devastated the entire island several times…… Not scary at all!

Next was the Cruise!! We got on the boat on Sunday and had 7 days of fun in mostly sun! We cruised on the Carnival Magic, it was an absolute blast! We had 3 destinations: Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel, Mexico.

In Jamaica, we went to a beautiful beach and spent the day relaxing in the sun and swimming in the warm water! After the beach we adventured around the town shopping and sightseeing.

Beautiful Beach in Jamaica!

The next day we stopped in Grand Cayman! We woke up super early to get off the boat ASAP to meet our tour to go on a catamaran out to a sand bar to swim with sting Rays! It was so much fun! We went snorkeling and fed huge stingrays as they swam all around us. Later we went to a gorgeous beach and shopping around the town.

Our last stop was Cozumel, Mexico. We took a ferryboat ride and drove to visit some ancient Mayan ruins. This was a very fun adventure, I had never seen Mayan ruins and the history and structures was amazing.

Our family vacation was simply amazing! Jared and I were so lucky that we got to go thanks to my WONDERFUL parents! This entire trip was to honor and celebrate my sister Sydney’s high school graduation and we had a wonderful time!

One Year!

Yesterday, December 28th, 2013, marked Jared and my one year wedding anniversary! It is amazing to think that a year has already zoomed by. Our wedding day was so exciting and full of joy and love; we both cannot believe it was a year ago!

We spent the day doing some of our favorite things. First, we got up early and went out to breakfast and headed to one of our favorite spots, Snoqualmie Falls. When Jared and I had only been dating for a short while, I googled "fun things to do near seattle". Snoqulamie Falls popped up and we thought we should give it a try. I had done it several times when I was younger and remembered enjoying it. We had a blast and from then on we went every summer. Snoqualmie Falls became a very special place for us when Jared proposed at the falls and we went to Salish Lodge on our honeymoon. It seemed only fitting that on our one year wedding anniversary we would go to the falls!

Beautiful Foggy falls

After the falls, we went to downtown Seattle for a few hours: shopping, exploring Pike Place and taking lots of pictures. After Seattle, we headed to Bellevue for the night. It was a wonderful day full love and laughter spent with my very best friend and husband of 1 year! I love to look back over the year at all of the wonderful memories and can't wait for even more in the year ahead!

Merry Christmas!

We have been celebrating Christmas all week long! We started with a wonderful Christmas Eve service, then Christmas morning at my house, opening presents, and watching an old (new to us) Christmas movie called "Mixed Nuts"! Christmas evening, we headed to Jared's family's annual gift exchange! (I left with a super comfy huge yellow blanket!!) And then yesterday, we celebrated Trygg Christmas all day long! It has been such a blast, and I feel so loved by both of my families! Christmas is my favorite time of the year; it is a wonderful time to celebrate the birth of Jesus, as well as a time to spend with family relaxing. This Christmas season was so much fun! I am bummed it has already come and gone!

Home for the Holidays

After 4 long months, I am finally back in Washington with my family to celebrate Christmas! I flew in Wednesday afternoon and have already had so much fun with my family! Sadly, Jared has to work till the 23rd :(... but then we will be reunited! I have been able to get a lot of Christmas shopping finally done and have fun with my sister!

Family Trees!

On Friday night, we went to downtown Seattle for our annual Christmas tradition! We went to my favorite restaurant, Benihana’s, and then to the 5th Avenue to see the Christmas show! This year was Oliver! It was a blast to see Seattle all lit up for Christmas and to dress up in our fun Christmas outfits!

Last night we ventured to Wild Waves and went on tons of rides. The park was all lit up with tons of festive Christmas lights! We fought the rain and had a great time!
